Meta descriptions and SEO titles – user first or Google first?

You don't even have to be a professional copywriter or SEO specialist - you know what metadata is because you browse the internet every day. Titles and meta descriptions are the main elements returned by the search engine after entering a query. Both elements are called metadata and appear in search results next to maps, business cards, phones. Why is title and meta description optimization so important?


The thesis that metadata should first be written for the web user, and then for the robots searching the Internet, may seem a bit exaggerated to some. Optimization of titles and meta descriptions - from the point of view of intransigent SEO specialists , who ate bread from many ovens - is important primarily in the context of algorithms that are responsible for mobile number list displaying the title and meta description on the list of search results. However, this position can probably be balanced and give what is due to the network user and machines.



How is it? Any string entered into the search text field returns results each time - search results. In the standard case, it will be the title (marked as a blue link referring to the page) and the meta description, i.e. a fragment of the text under the title, which informs us about the content of the page we are preparing to visit. Of course, every internet user will consider this metadata before clicking. The full meaning of the title and meta description for the user is revealed at this moment - the creators of the internet try to convey information in the form of title and meta description text to the user:

true, consistent with what it finds on the site
as best as possible to briefly describe the content of the page to which they link
attractive, i.e. encouraging to open the URL to which they are assigned
